Never Gone

Today, I thought would be a tough day... and it was... but not as bad.

It's been almost a year since I've lost my mom and I thought today I'd do something to celebrate life. What a better way to do it than with some friends? So after work I met up with my best friend Jess and we went for a bit of a hike and hung out outside. Took some pictures, soaked up a tiny bit of North-Eastern sun and just appreciated what nature has to offer.
Then of course went out for sushi! it was all in all a great day!

So I know that things will never be the same and sometimes I feel like the past is fading away... but I'll have some of the best memories and love in my heart and the future to look forward to.

I have no idea what I want to write about here other than...

I believe I might have a job! I know, right? It's been like a whole six months since I graduated it's about time. I've had a bunch of fun playing around with B.Gru and making crazy videos, but the time has come for me to be an adult.

It's only part time but I do have to say I kinda like it... makes me feel all grown up. Now it's time to celebrate with some of the finest people I know ~ my friends!

Ratatouille

Tonight Dad and I decided to make Ratatouille after the movie and see what that lil rat was so good at cookin. We got a almost 2 lb eggplant, zucchini, green pepper, mushrooms, spices and tomatoes... cooked them all together and ate it over linguine. And it was quite tasty. Not extravagant... but it is a peasant dish : ) Then we watched the movie. It was a good time and fun.

Next up: Lady and the Tramp Spaghetti!

It's been a long nite but it was a bunch of fun! Me n Sara (or Liz n Court) saw so many things and went soooo many places in the city that it feels like it was a dream. But it was a very good dream. I love New York City and I wish I could go back, it's such a fun place. Can't wait to go back!

Tonight was the first official Quad-Annual Board Game Party... and it was for serious fun! We went from me using the wrong letter in Scatagories, Kool Kat, molding silly putting, fighting about drawing, Kramer, Johnny T, CSI sunglasses and Jason winning Trivial Pursuit... cuz he's real smart. Well there are plenty of pictures for your amusement... take a gander : )

Tonight I headed up to Cleveland to witness the 25th Anniversary of the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame Concert Series. And it was an awesome evening... I was kinda bummed that I couldn't go to the actual concerts in Madison Square Garden, but being in the home of rock n roll was close enough. I watched the four hours concerts after trudging through the rain, took some awesome pix and trudged back. But it was well worth it... had a great time... great show!

Thanksgiving 2009

Wow. It's Turkey Day! I made Pie : )
I can't believe " Tis the Holiday Season " is beginning! I started off the day at Jess's new house and had turkey and all the works, then we went to Gpa's to do it all over again... in the words of Joey Tribbiani, "I'm glad I had my thanksgiving pants on." We celebrated Dad's Birthday and ate more pie!
Then I met up with the ZTV gang that made it home for the holidays...
It was a great day, however very long and... I gotta hit the hay cuz Beaver says we're up at 4am for Black Friday! Ahhhhh...

Texas Week Two

Well this has been one heck of a trip we did some many things I'm not even sure I took pictures of everything... I had a lot of fun though.
We baked cookies, went to downtown Austin to see the nightlife, got ice cream with Jayda. Oh, and I read 2 1/2 books!.... I know rite... I've really had a blast and I can't wait to go back again... although Beaver and I have been discussing Texas road trippin plans which I believe would be quite the adventure... : )

I was kinda happy to see Terence J there in the airport though it makes me realize... I'm back in OH - IO!

Texas Week One

So I've been in Texas for about a week now and I thought I might as well let you know about things as I kinda travel the continent here...

Got to Texas after a bunch of airplane hullabaloo... saw My BB and Baby J Cuzin Jennifer and Blaze Dog! Then we met up with Scott and went to Trudy's for nachos..... loved it. Then I went straight to bed cuz I was a fight sick and very sleepy.

We kinda hung out for the next couple days then Friday we left for Port Aransas (sounds made up, 's not) (google it) Me, BB, Jayda, Jennifer, Jennifer's lil sis's Tamisha and Shon, and Jennifer's BF Matt we all went and stayed in a lovely Beach house called Charlie Horse. We got some great pictures. I even got a couple sweet night lights pix.

We then returned to Austin and had a plethora of fun... Liz washed some dogs, swam in pools, went to San Marcos tried to pick up Texas State Boys, swam in more pools, had dinner with Jennifer and Baby J at Torchy's One of my faves, then went to the Alamo to see 500 Days of Summer also one of my faves, rented movies, swam with dogs, took care of a sick baby, got awesome ice cream, hung out with Scott some more...

And Tonight I even gotts to see My Boys on TV!!! I just heard them on the radio earlier today too... And they're coming out with a new album just for me!!! Shame on all you haters!!! The BSB pride is still alive : )

Um... I think I Just Graduated College...

So I've been home for about a week now and after settling down, seeing family and friends, family structure changes, unpacking, laundry, cleaning, party prep..... and chillin in the Ak-Rowdy. I'm finally ready to graduate!

It was a busy morning and a little tiring. But I made it across the stage... and then pictures and family and friends and I think everything went well.

And then I got to hangout with some of my favorite people and I had a pretty awesome time... they're were several people that I missed but I hope to see them soon.

I'm so glad that I gotts the friends that I do because I couldn't do it without you folks... I mean it, I love you.

I got everything all packed up, with Jamie's help (oh, and Chris) and said my goodbyes : (

Me Dad and Gpa : ) hit the road and I realized I forgot my cellphone... I think it was a secret plot to go back to the city.... but we didn't.

I got to see my pup!!!

We got home and unpacked around 7pm. I hurried up and got changed and went to Besanney's sister's Wedding with Becca and I got to see baby Eden!!! : )

Me Time in the City

Today I worked on packing but I made sure that I went out and stopped by some of my favorite things in NY. Parks, the library, walked down some streets I got used to and the apt. building....

I had a good time here I'm glad I got this experience and I will remember it forever...

But I do miss my family friends and puppy. I get to see them tomorrow : )

This morning I had to say bye to Sara Potter : ( And then I had to help the Gruccio's pack up so that they could leave me too. We didn't do too much today... we went back to the the Statue of liberty Ferry but the line was way too long to wait to see it so we didn't. We were going to go to this restaurant in Madison Square Garden but the line was super long. So we went to a different restaurant and had smoothies...

I hope that everyone had a good time but it was sad to see them go... I'll be home soon, I have to live it up in NY for a little bit longer...

Today we did a lot of traveling to see a bunch of sweet things... we saw the Bull, The World Trade Center Site, went down to the Statue of Liberty Ferry but we missed it : (

We walked around Tribeca and had Sushi for lunch and then walked around Central Park some more... where Sara found a new BF (of Course) and then we went to Little Italy for dinner... and the girls got purses in Chinatown like heroes...

JIMMY FALLON

So Potter and I got up SUPER EARLY... a little too early... to wait in line for Jimmy Fallon tickets. We were so early that no one else was waiting. We were one and two : ) so we definitely got in!

Then we went and napped... hung out with Becca and Mia, went to Tom's Restaurant ( a double cheeseburger means, two separate cheeseburgers) and then walked around til Jimmy time.

Sara and I had to wait forever to get in to the show but we did and it was awesome... it came down to the first 5 people... it was pretty close. And I got to see one of my faves... Chris Kattan!!! yay! it was awesomer.

And as soon as we got done we met up with Becca and Mia and went to see the musical the Little Mermaid! we got a great deal on tickets and got to see it... unfortunately without Drew Seeley... but it was spectacular anyway!!!

The Gruccio's Arrival

Hello!

Today was very busy... first, after running some errands, Sara, Jamie and I went for a stroll down 5th Ave. Which Reeves tells me is millionaire row. Potter did get to see her beloved Tiffany's but we didn't eat breakfast there.
Then we all went to Central Park and Potter and I took the tour with our favorite tour guide Omar... we got to see a lot of awesome stuff like Strawberry Fields memorial of John Lennon and the Dakota as well. And of course the Friends Fountain.

Then we went back to the apt. and Becca, Mia and Chris were there! So we all went to Ruby Tuesdays for dinner

Then we went to Toys R Us to play around and ride the Ferris Wheel and goof around.... I included a picture of our wind-up mouse band that we put together. hehe

Then we ended the night walking around Times Square. Good Day : )

Happy Birthday S.Po!!!

So I got up super early this mornin and went to LGA via my $2.25 route and got off at the wrong stop and walked 10mins to the airport central terminal to get- SARA POTTER! yay!

We got back to the apt after I drug Sara through the subway. We played around in some stores... and met up with Reeves and went to Rockefeller Center to hangout. Then we went through the NBC Studios Tour and saw sum pretty sweet stuff... and some Sunday Night Football stage. But we did hangout with Kathy Lee and Incubus... well we passed them in the hall : )

Then we played around in the NBC Experience Store and went to Magnolia Bakery and got cupcakes and ate them at the fountain... it was real Purrrdy.

Went back to the apt and got ready to go Meet up with Reisinger and his gf for dinner at Heartland Brewery: )

Then hug out some more and played Guitar Hero with Sara and then went to sleep.

1 day til the Apt Party!

Before you can have a big party... what do you have to do? That's right - clean. So that's what Reeves did and I helped a little. The whole apt was cleaned top to bottom and all the laundry was done waiting for guests to arrive : ) our first guest arrives tomorrow but because of the nature of the event and the classiness of this establishment I am not at liberty to reveal who....

After that we made quite an extravagant dinner meaning we cooked all the leftover stuff in the fridge... Chicken, Rice, Peppers, Tomatoes, Mozzarella and Corn. So yeah sometimes we do eat good stuff around here.

Well I need to finish getting ready for the guest(s).

This morning Jamie and I seemed to have forgotten we lived in NY for a moment and slept in on a Saturday. Then we went out and ran errands like going to the library and things. Then Jamie got ready to go see Wicked and I help Caroline pack up her things for her move home : ( We carried everything down to the lobby and waited for their car it was sad to see her go but I know she was ready to go home for a while. I headed up to central park to read and things.
Then Revees came home and we hung out for a while, I watched a movie on TV and went to bed.

But of course I don't sleep so here we are typing to you. It's gunna be busy week but I have a hard time waiting for it.

I got up pretty early and it was quite rainy, to go to NBC Studios to see if there was anyway I could get stand by tickets for Jimmy Fallon... I know, I know Brandon told me I wouldn't make it in but I just wanted to try.

I didn't make it. But I did get to see the Kings of Leon on the today show which was kinda cool...

Then I got some breakfast and went to the library to get some books and then to the apartment to shower, rest and read then back to NBC to walk around 30 Rock for an hour (literally) and find out that I'd be watching Jimmy from the apt.

Helped Caroline pack up some things and Reeves made some burgers and we watched some One Tree...

Can't wait for my Russia Buddies to come home!!!

This morning a worked on a bunch of things online and of course looked for some jobs... and I made all my invitations and got them mailed out... so you should be getting those soon : )

Then I went out shopping for a bit... and then Jamie came home to tackle the bathroom, and Caroline started to pack up her things : (

I really do like riding the escalators in Macy's. I have always disliked them, ever since I disobeyed my mom and rode one in Rolling Acres with my shoes untied and the laces got caught. But with the 9 floors in Macy's I guess I got used to them and it's kinda cool riding them around. Just to let ya know.

I'm still awake and its soooper later... I wish that I could sleep better.

Not a whole lot happened today except that I was on the Dolce Channel. Ya, know... no biggie : )

It went very well I was on Lisa's show Confetti. It was quite fantastic if I do say so myself. We did a show about music of the motion picture/theatre variety. It went pretty smoothly and we had a good crowd even tho it rained.

It was a good lat day to an awesome internship.

Now I have to wait til it's time for my buddies to go here : / it's gunna feel like forever.

Explorin'

Brandon and I explored all over NYC today, we got unlimited subway passes so we took advantage of them. First we went to Tom's Restaurant where the Seinfeld Cast always went to eat. I had a very scrumptious spinach omelet and some orange juice (one of my favorite beverages).
Then we walked around the city. Went to the Dakota, the World Trade Center bunches of fun and then to Crif Dogs which was quite delicious. Then we all had tacos at the apartment and Brandon had to leave : ( Jamie and I watched the Bachelorette and now I'm watching TV and typing to you...

Bye Tribeca...

Today was my last day at Tribeca... after the coffee refilling, milk distributing and delivering things I was done with one internship : ) I had some good experience and times but I'm ready to move on...
While I was out and about today I took some pictures of the awesome city I'm living in. The first picture I put in the blog is one of the upper West side. I just thought it was a really nice place and I stood there for a while just taking in the sights and things. I even saw Julliard.
Then I went back to apt took a little nap... and got ready for my next internship at Focolare... it was quite a spectacular show. Then I talked to Dad and watch the Jimmy Fallon show... guess who was on it? Brandon. yeah was definately in the audience! Im so doing it... I know Sara wants to!
And I aslo took a pic of myself cuz I'm good lookin and my style was quite fly for my last day in the business...

P.S. I hear that I'll be guest appearing on the DolceChannel so expect you all to watch...

Movies and Ice Cream : )

Today was a bit rainy so after coming up with limited ideas of what to do... we decided to go to the movies. We all went to go see 500 Days of Summer and The Ugly Truth... which were both pretty good.
Then I ran to the library and Subway (the sandwich place) for a Italian BMT and waited for Brandon to show up.
After we found Brandon and got out of the rain we decided to go for a walk up to Central Park and walk around up there. And then we went to Serendipity's put our name in for the wait. We walked back and forth in that area until it started raining and then finally after almost two hours... we got our ice cream!

Well I got my last day of Tribeca tomorrow... hope everything goes well. I miss you guys but I'll be seeing you soon. Love ya.

Staten Island

Well today Reeves and I set out for an adventure. First we went down to Wall St. so that I could see the Big Bull. Then we headed to the Ferry for Staten Island. The ferry ride was awesome I got to see the Statue of Liberty and New Jersey from the water... it was super cool.
Staten Island wasn't that fun... it was pretty, big, but there wasn't a lot going on. We hung out for a little while and walked around but not too much was going on.
So we headed back to the apt. made some food and watched some One Tree Hill and had a pretty good night... more adventures tomorrow when Brandon gets here!

Wonderin Around in Chinatown

This morning I worked on some internet things and I got a couple calls from resumes I sent out but nothing that has seemed to work so far. : (
Then when Jamie got home we decided to go to Chinatown and look around. We looked at all the shops and street vendors and walked around for a while. Then I dragged Jamie to Henry St. so that I could see where Bret and Jemaine live. It wasn't quite how I remembered it but it sure was Chinatown... you can get sunglasses, watches, DVDs or purses on very corner...

Then we settled for Focolare for dinner since the know me from working there on Mondays and I thought we might get a deal, they have $10 all you can eat pasta so it was good : )

Then we took the subway back to the apartment ate ice cream and watched One Tree...

Today was a little busy but not bad... I slept til 10am cuz I still can't sleep at all... but right now as I type I am very sleepy... So I hope I can sleep tonight.
It was quite rainy, but I stayed inside helping my boss organize things all afternoon in the Chelsea area. Which is where I saw the ConEdison Truck...

the Ohio Edison Electric Company equivalent here is called Con Ed short for Consolidated Edison... I dunno about you but I don' think I'd want electric or to pay my bill to a company called Con Ed. It sounds kinda shifty like their gunna rip you off... I'm just sayin...

So I'm sleepy so I'll write ya'll tomorrow : ) nite

Today was fun and went well. We went to Gnocco tonight and shot some shows and had some great Italian food. I had some of the best pasta I have ever eaten tonite... it was called Fusilli Piccanti and it was awesome... and of course Betty and I shared the famous Gnocco... which is fried dough and Italian cold cuts, very tasty as well. And one of the guests was a pastry chef... so of course we sampled those too... I added some shots from the shows tonight too... AND...

I was on TV tonight!!! on the Johnny Mandolin Show Just follow this link and when the media player comes up select menu on the bottom. In the next menu select movies> then select Heart of Little Italy 7/22 and about 36 minutes in you'll see me the "water girl" DolceChannel but you should watch the whole show it was very good... beautiful music...

And now I'm sitting here watching the Odd Couple... having some crackers and brie and sleepy time tea... waiting to get sleepy

Livin the Good Life... but I miss you :/

Well today was quite busy but it was a very good day. I talked to some family and friends and then jumped on the subway to Grand Central Station and took some pictures for you while I waited for the Dolce people. I talked to my Grandpa and gazed at the stars... painted on the ceiling.
Then we all got on the Metro North and went to the Bronx to the Clam house for some more Italian music. Tonight's show went really well too. We didn't have many technical difficulties. And tonight I had Lobster Bisque and Garlic Bread, delicioso! I even got chocolate Ice Cream for dessert... everything was really good: )
I even got home early enough to have a good ole roommate chat and watch some One Tree with Jamie...

Congrats to J.Po on the new job!!! Woooo Whoooo!

Monday, Monday...

Today I kinda slept in and took care of my sunburn because it's still burning... I actually thought my skin was gunna fall out in the shower cuz it hurt so bad... I know it will heal soon, I can't wait.
Worked online got some things done and then got ready to go to Focolare to do a couple more shows for the Dolce Channel...
It went really well and we had a good time. I even tried the Chicken Marsala which was good. I even included a few production photos.
Now I'm home... I had so cookies and milk... gunna watch some Pushing Daisies and hopefully sleep. I been having trouble sleeping for several weeks... I thought it go away but it hasn't yet : (

Burnt

Today we kinda just stayed inside and alternated the aloe and the lotion. We cleaned all the sand out of the apartment. Made everything look sparkling clean, caught up on laundry and chilled. After awhile we went out, carefully, went to K-Mart for supplies and the library to pick up some movies. We watched some One Tree Hill... because of Jamie I'm now addicted. And then we all watched a movie and went to sleep.

BEACH!!!

So we went to the beach and it was super cool. We got to sit on the beach and get in the water. Riding the waves was super fun, although I think that the waves really beat me up... the water was super salty. I think that Long Beach has been the warmest saltiest beach I've ever been to. Which would prolly explain why I got super burnt. All three of us got burnt... so we had to share the aloe, I'm glad I brought it : /

Today I watched Black Sheep while I ate breakfast, talked to Jess... worked on the computer and ran to the store. Talked to Gpa saw Jamie.... got a text about Rob Pattinson being in town and shooting a movie so I hopped on a subway to 63rd and Park and saw him! He's so cute : )

Then Caroline Jamie and I went to South Side Seaport to hangout and get dinner... we ate at a place called Uno and it was quite good and tasty... then got suck in the rain on the way home...

The Search for Wicked...

I got up kinda early for my day off and went to Times Square to the Gershwin Theatre to try and find cheap Wicked tickets... since it's an awesome play and I have limited funds. I didn't really find any which was a bit sad but I'll keep checking.
Went back to the apartment worked on some internet things applied for some "real world" jobs and napped. Then Jamie came home and made dinner... Caroline came home later and we watched a movie... talked to some family and friends... watched some online TV and now I'm going to sleep...

I pray for a safe trip for Sara, JL, Jess, Melinda, Cathy, Katie, Cliff and friends going to Russia... Hope everything goes well and you return home safely.

And a Happy Birthday to my cousin Matt : )

Just had the one internship today, I went to Gnocco today and we shpt talk shows. And actually my producer did one tonight. It was a pretty good night. Not too many technical difficulties and the people we interviewed were really cool. Their was even a baker and we gots SAMPLES... very tasty. Sleepy

I went to Tribeca at 9am and met another really nice intern and we talked a bunch. I ran some errands and then I needed to leave to meet the dolce channel people at Grand Central. We took the Metro North to the Bronx to Umberto's. I included a picture of the set up. I was pretty tired and the train for some reason gives me motion sickness but we made it through another Italian music show : )
Now there's something else I want to talk about before I fall asleep. The subway, I know I touched on this one before but I'm afraid I'm not quite finished with my sound off. Now, I've spent some time waiting for subways... for some reason they seem to be taking longer and longer. I'm not too excited about this but there's really nothing I can do. I have noticed that this bothers other people as well. I guess this is one way of coping that I've seen, but I don't understand it... people kinda stand on the edge of the platform and lean over and look down the track. I understand that people want to know if the subway is coming, but I think that when it gets to the platform people should know its there. Even if you have your earbuds in you can feel a train coming... so I think it's weird... I just don't understand, especially when the same person looks over and over again, I'm just sayin...

Crazy Monday

Well today was a little hectic. I had to be at Tribeca at 9am, as soon as I got there I did all the coffees and teas restocking (that's what I minored in) and then when my supervisor came in he sent my on an errand to Central Park West. It was very pretty up there. Very clean and it had trees and everything.
I got back to the office and Bob's office called and they needed me to run another errand. So I headed to Alphabet city, I talked to my Gpa and took the subway back. By the time I got back it was after 2pm and I needed to leave for my second internship.
I get home change clothes and head out to Little Italy to Focolare to shoot some italian music shows.
I got home around 11pm and I'm pretty tired and I got to do the whole thing again tomorrow.

This afternoon I went to Central Park and played around in the sun. Well actually I read a book about NY while Jamie listened to her iPod and kept bothering her with more sights we needed to see in the city.

Then we came back to the apt. met up with Caroline and headed towards Chinatown... altho we ended up in little Italy where I work on Monday nights.

Got some dinner, took in the Italia Scene and even got Cheesecake : ) First NY cheesecake... (it was just as good as the Factory)

Now I gots to go to sleep so I can answer phones all day tomorrow...

Today I went to the library and finally was able to check out books and DVDs. I found a book online about NY that I really wanted... the online catalog says the library has it but they couldn't find it so I have to get it later....

Then I went to Bryant Park to read my books and talk to my Gpa. Then Jamie called and we met up and went to dinner in Greenwich Village and tried to find and NYU store.

Pretty good nite. But I still stayed up all nite watching shows online...

Hello,

I don't think I did too much today that was exciting either. I got up at like 8:30am to go see Rascal Flatts on the Today show... it was so packed I couldn't even get that close... I didn't wait around long enough cuz I was tired but I guess I kinda was there for the concert.
Then I kinda napped. Worked on some things... And after dinner Caroline and I went to go see I Love You, Beth Cooper... which was not worth the money. But on the way home we did see this guy... and I've changed careers. I wanna bang on pots and pans for a living. He was quite musical...

Anyway, we just kinda chatted and I'm prolly gunna stay up all night watch TV online and planning adventures to do with my guests which will arrive in August!!!! so Excited!!! and yes, I have a plan to make plans! --Where's that one from J.Po?

Bunches of things happened today but I don't really have any pictures any things. But I got presents in the mail! I talked to everyone on the phone... peeps confirmed that they were coming to visit! I sent out bunches of letters, cards and emails... It was really just a great day. Nothing super exciting happened that I need to tell you about... I just ran some errands and had some really good phone convos....
I did stay up really late tonight though building my map and watching TV online... the internet works best at night when everyone else is sleeping... : )

Tonight I went to Alphabet City to Gnocco which is a wonderful Italian restaurant. Tonight we worked on Dolce's talk shows and a little bit about music... make sure you go online to watch some of my handy work at www.dolcechannel.com and go to the live feed, and you'll get to the media player and you can watch shows by date.
Plus I got to eat pizza and kinda work as a personal assistant/waitress... so it was an interesting night.

Internship two, day two...

So I finished my second day of my new internship and it's still totally cool. I don't get home til around midnight but other than that it's totally cool.
Today we went to Umberto's to shoot another edition of Dolce's music shows. It was quite interesting trying to get to the Bronx, Betty the Production Manager and I kinda got lost for an hour or so... but we finally got there and did the set up and beginning of the show totally on our own with was super sweet : )
Had a pretty good night altogether but my sleeping schedules a bit off...

So... I had the first day of my new internship at dolcechannel.com and I have to say it's super awesome cool. Yeah all three. I actually get to do some production work : ) and it's fun stuff and I get to go different places and they pay for dinner and it's REAL food : ) It's so much fun. I can't even tell you.
Tonight I went downtown to a restaurant called Focolare and we held like a music talk show right in the restaurant that gets streamed live to the web. Super cool. When I get home I wanna do my own show... I'm excited : )
I didn't get home til almost midnight but it was worth it... tomorrow I'm going to the Bronx for another music show : )

Hope everyone is having fun with family and friends... and cookouts!!!

I too had a pretty fun day. I went to go see Public Enemies and John Dillinger's hot! The movie was well done although it was a bit sad : ( But I guess Johnny did play a bad guy...
-I do have one observation I'd like to discuss though... why in all the "shoot 'em up" movies when the good guys catch the bad guys they have to shoot the bad guys repeatedly... over and over and over when they're obviously already dead... I mean what's the point? I'm not sure if it's a silver screen thing er what, but it seems to happen in all of those movies...

Later, I went to go see fireworks! I walked down 34th St. to 11th Ave. And took some pictures... They were pretty good and pretty clear for being in a town full of skyscrapers. I haven't seen so many people just standing in the street like that before, there were sooooooooooooo many people. : )

If You Need Served... NYs Not the Place...

Worked on career stuff and cleaned up the apartment a little... then Jamie and I went shopping. And the story begins.
As more know girls need to buy outfits for special occasions, which could be holidays, dates or accomplishing personal goals, so pretty much anything. So, Jamie and I were outfit shopping and we went to several different stores and got no where. Finally we made it Macy's and I finally found a shirt (that would nicely compliment my giftcard). So we wait in line for the check out counter... and we were talking and must have waited 15 mins before we realized we weren't getting anywhere waiting in line. So we walked around til we found another counter... and waited again... forever.
I finally make it to the counter and the sales lady is so slow... I knew waiters around here were slow but... she was super slow. I mean I made it to the counter and it still took like twenty minutes. For serious it was almost not worth buying something... and the sales out here are crazy... I included some crazy shirts I found that you could get for only $5. wonder why?

So then we just kinda hung out and I watched When Harry Met Sally... which was pretty funny...

My Birthday Party!

I kinda ran some errands today... I went to the bank to cash a check and it was quite an interesting time. I went through the line and the teller told me I had to go see one of the investment bankers in the front to get the check certified. So I waited to see one of the bankers and that took like 15mins. Finally I got to see him... he asked what I was trying to do so I told him I wanted to cash a check. He said, "do you have an accout here?" I said, "no." He was like, "where do you bank?" I said, "Back, in Ohio." He had my license.
"where's that?"
"for real?" seriously buddy.
"yeah, where is that? Like Michigan and Indiana and stuff?"
"yeah" yeah, you have know idea where Ohio is....
"cool, you a big Lebron fan?"
"yeah" Sounds like you mite know a little bit about things then huh?
"ok, you're all set, just go wait in the teller line."
"thanks" for nuthin.
"you take care, Meow."
For serious the teller guy said Meow. Not kidding you. An investment banker in NYC wants to be a super trooper...I just walked out shaking my head... I was gunna ask him for a liter of cola but I thought I should just get out of there as soon as possible.

We celebrated my birthday today... I baked a cake and Jamie made steak, mashed potatoes and corn, and even yoohoo!
We got to use the party stuff that Kathleen sent and I even got a song and to blow out candles!

Went to Tribeca, worked solo with an other intern, it was totally boring. It took forever to get out of there.
It was basically a horrible day... And I felt really bad by the time I got home...
...BUT when I got home there was a HUGE box!!! I got a really big box from Uncle Jer and Kathleen!!! There was sooooo much stuff in the box! Everything I could ever imagine... make up, scrapbook stuff, gum, candy, party supplies, Target giftcard!!!, hair stuff, nail stuff, cards, markers even glow sticks!!!
It made the whole day soooo much better : )
Jamie and I watched the Bachelorette and I talked to my family and friends...
Then went to sleep, Thanks for everything!

Today I kind of adventured by myself. I went to Bryant Park and walked around in the sun. I like grass, sometimes it's fun to just hangout in it.

And then took a stroll from 50th St. to 9th St. it was quite a trek...

Went souvenir shopping... walked around, went to Roxy's Deli... which had horrible service. Then we began the adventures of getting to the airport from the Subway... it took a while but we made it!
Beaver even got mulled by a bear at the airport.
I got all the way home in like 30mins for $2 taking the bus and the subway! But it started to rain and Beaver's flight that was suppose to leave at 6pm left at 1am... but she did get home safely.
I talked to Jamie and watched TV then went to sleep...

BROADWAY

This morning we got up early---er and checked out all the different theatres to see if we could find any discount tickets to Broadway. We also went to Rockefeller Center and looked around the NBC store and bumped into Rachel and Stephanie. Went to the Magnolia Bakery and the 53rd St Deli for lunch.
Then met up at the apartment with Rachel and Stephanie, gave them the GRAND tour and then Jess and I went to the World Trade Center...
Got ready for the show then went to go see CHICAGO! Which was quite spectacular!
Side-note: People here do not think that broadway is as big a deal as Ohio people do... Everyone wears jeans! People just like hangout all day shopping or sun tanning in Central Park and then go to a show... just like there going to the movies... I dress up to the Carousel... who knows!

Then we went to McDonald's and then walked around in times square... and saw some guy from New Found Glory, I think he was Chad but Jess doesn't think so... I would have liked to see Jordan but we weren't that lucky.

Then went back to the apartment and watched TV :)

I woke up early this morning to go to the airport and pick up Beaver... The trip was quite tricky because I kinda got lost trying to take the subway and buses to the airport... so I ended up taking a cab.
I got Beaver and we took a cab back to the apartment and took a nap...
Then we got up and went to the Empire State Building and looked around. Then we went to Heartland for lunch, walked around, got tickets to see Transformers 2, got stuck in the rain, saw Santa's helpers at a camera store, waited in line for a movie we already paid for, watch the movie, walk around more, get sushi, walked around more and went home.

We had a good day but we had a long day...

Hello,

Today I few back to NYC after a few sad goodbyes with family and friends and Rordy Roo.
However, I did see a few friends (Rachel and Stephanie) on the plane ride back which made things easier...

Got to the apartment and unpacked in less than half an hour so Jamie didn't get stressed : )

While we were walking around we saw Harrison Ford shooting a movie right on the side walk... (Morning Glory... we think)!!!

Then Jamie and I met up with Rachel and Stephanie for dinner at John's Pizzeria... which was quite tasty. Then took a stroll on the way back to the apartment.

Now I must go to sleep because tomorrow.... The Beev arrives!

T.G.I... Up

This afternoon I waited around for the IT guy... who finally says he fixed the internet connection... but I didn't see him do anything. Things seem to be working well.
When the roomies got home they took naps cuz we stayed up all night talking... I got a package from the Potters that they are torturing me with cuz it will explore if I open it before Monday. And I also got a package from Beaver... Oh, Beaver... you shouldn't have. If you ever wondered what a box of randomness looks like... I could tell you. My favorite is tied between the receipt stating that Beaver got her 1st Frappachino without me or the card explaining how the care package works and its contents.
Jamie made Stir-fry for dinner. Then we all got dressed up and... hung out at Walgreen's. Not really went went to go see the movie Up but it was sold out so we had to wait til midnight to see it... we were just wasting time at the store.
The movie was really good I'm glad I got to see it. I think I might try to see if I could float my house to Paradise Falls to live with Kevin... who reminds me of my cousin Liz : )

Wild Goose Walkin

This morning I woke up feeling rather ambitious so I figured I'd walk 15 (street) blocks to the New York City Public Library (NYCPL, for short) and look at books and music and movies and things. When I started walking I passed a library... I was like no big deal, I'm looking for a certain one so I'll just keep walking. Then I see another one on my way. So I stopped and went inside that one, I have no clue which one. Found some books and DVDs and went to get a library card. And I couldn't because I didn't have any proof of me that said I lived, worked or went to school in the city... oops.
So I decided to set out to find some yarn... I got lost and had to walk in the complete other direction, cuz I was lost. I finally get to the address of the so called yellowpages.com yarn shop and its a lobby with a building directory sign and an elevator thats it. Turns out that this "yarn store" was a "thread" store for like actual people who make clothes, like fashion designers. They didn't have anything for me to knit or crochet.
So then it starts raining and I'm all um... grumpy from not getting anything accomplished but getting lost... So I see a McDonald's so I thought that I would go there cuz I haven't been there since I've been here. But the lady at the counter doesn't speak english and has no clue what I'm talking about... so no Mickey Ds either.
So I went to K-Mart... that's the only thing I do know how to do. I wanted to make cookies for the roommates and I but it would cost $25 to get all the stuff to make the cookies I usually make. Instead I just bought the break and bake kind for $3... don't tell.
That evening we all went to Starbuck's and met all the other interns that live in the building... whoo who. And then went back to Macy's in which they had changed all the inventory around and we couldn't find anything we saw from the night before. crazy.
Got home and the roomies and I had a huge long talk and I learned more stuff about them and myself that I'd never realized before... then went to sleep.

Today was just like all the rest of them. I wandered around and waited for the living space co-inhabitants to return. Jamie made tacos for dinner... so we had a fiesta. I got a card from my Aunt Nan and a satchel from Becca... so we went out and got Mint Chocolate Chip frozen yogurt. Then we headed to Macy's and looked around.
Then home to go to sleep...

Just a Regular Beach Bum... without a beach

Today was a kinda regular day I walked around and looked for a job and tried to apply at Subways... the restaurant, not the crazy place. I saw a bunch of cool stuff and went in some pretty awesome stores. But no luck yet.
I did write some more letters and talk to Gpa and Becca and Jen and Sara... but not too much else.

When the roomies came home... I watched Reba and House while Caroline cooked dinner which was super awesome and then we all kinda did our own thing... I'm still awake watching Jimmy Fallon... and I'll probably watch Carson Daly because Green Day's on... so hope everyone's having a good night and I'll be more creative tomorrow...

Big "Internship" Day

Well Today wasn't exactly how I expected.

In the end tho... I'm saying this at the beginning of my rant, so you don't think it's all bad... It wasn't a bad day, I had a good time.

I was nervous, but Jamie and countless family and friends helped me calm down and I got all dressed up and ready to go. I walked to the subway and waited for the next one arrive. It was just me and a couple people like normal.
Then like 5 minutes later there were more and more people. Now, it was 9AM. There were SO many people. There was like a lady standing right beside me, not kidding, there's not comfort zone. So the subway gets there and as it passes me I see all the people on it and I'm amazed.
Then I realize there is NO WAY that all these people are going to fit on this subway. And I panic, a baby bit. The doors open and its pure Jumanji... I didn't have to worry about getting on... I was swept away in the stampede.
Then I walked to Tribeca, after I made through the subway, geez, and met my supervisor Jakub for the first time. And got my first assignment.... take someone's phone to AT&T by the World Trade Center... kinda like here's a Google map... just go.
Ok, how bout I'm wearing heels. It's a 1/2 hour away. I was under the impression that there was no longer a World Trade Center. And what I thought I was making copies and getting coffee.
So any way to make a long story short... I get to deliver Mr. DeNino's mail : ) ... not all the time since I'm one of 14 interns... but I still get to...
I don't have to sit behind a desk all day because I get to run awesome errands. And I get to wear whatever I want and explore the city and get paid ($10) for it so Whoo.

Had a good but long day... So there's one picture but it's not too good, I forgot to have someone take one before we all left. So Jess, Sara, Jen and Becca you were right you won with the outfit. Sleepy, Nite.

We got up and went to Wall St. .... to go to church : ) Called The River it was a pretty awesome service in a real cool building. And they really blew me away cuz the played a clip from Ratatouille... I felt right at home. They also gave us cookies and milk... even awesomer. Then we went shopping and to... Central Park.

Central Park is awesome. I actually saw grass today... it's been about a week : /

It was a really pretty day and I'm glad that we got to hang out in it for a little while.

I also got to see the Tony Awards being set up at Radio City... I actually saw the infamous red carpet just a couple hours before the stars graced it with their... shoes.
And the legendary Magnolia Bakery... I didn't get to eat there (or mack on some cupcakes), I just saw it but... I will : )

Today... We got food. We went to this place called The Food Emporium. And it was packed with food that was twice as expensive than the food at home.
Another this about this town is that since all the stores are in these big old buildings... so like stores that I've been going to forever like... K-Mart are in basements... creepy weird.
Anyway we all got so much food that we couldn't walk back and we had to take a cab... hence... my first cab ride : )

So today was a good day... I even got awesome New Yorker Potato Chips... So I'm official : )

So I didn't exactly explain the pictures....

The first one is on my way from the Subway to Tribeca. It was a little rainy outside.

The next is a picture of Tribeca Grill which is located underneath the offices in the building where my internship will be.

Subway Awesomeness...

Today... I got lost on the subway. This is were Dad chimes in with "I told you so."
I know, I know, I figured it out, it was just the wrong time to get lost cuz it was raining all day. I got soaked. And I was wearing flip-flops.
The issue is google maps>transit told me to take the #2 and the subway next to the apartment doesn't service the #2. So instead of correcting my error and finding the #2 at Penn Station... I took the N to Brooklyn and got lost.
(in the words of S.Po and some band I don't know "...No Sleep! 'Til Brooklyn!"

It was an adventure and I found my way back around... and I also stopped by Tribeca to look for Bob and take some pictures for you fine people : )

Tonight I've just been hangin out with the roomies and chattin.... But I'm super tired and still trying to get over allergies/cold/sickness so I'm going to sleep : ) Nite all

Ya Can't Wear Yer Ohio Pants in NYC...

Today I applied for almost every online job I could think of... it was kinda busy... but I did make sure that I got outside for a lil bit : )

So the story today goes... I have this favorite pair of jeans so I like to wear them a lot. I wore them Twice this week already. They had a small hole in the knee and it was no big deal... it was right where my knee bends. I've been wearing them like this for about a year at home and the hole didn't get that big. Just because I've been walkin around so much here... the hole is huge. I'm actually going to have to fix it before I wear them again... seriously.

I definitely walked 5 miles to and from Tribeca to avoid the subway... definitely gunna do it again if it doesn't rain, but I'm gunna walk to work because I fear the end result wouldn't be pretty. I did see a bunch of cool stuff today, amongst the gloominess. Maybe tomorrow will look better.
Another thing that I've been noticing is that I have forgotten quite a few items that I never usually leave the house with. Which is a bit odd of me not to have packed them... like travel mugs, satchel and sunglasses. Guess I'll have to get someone to come visit me with the rest of my effects.
Also after much deliberation I have decided that I am not allergic to New York, I do not have the swine flu, H1N1.... I am just adjusting to the new allergens and pollution that I wasn't used to in the AK-Rowdy... I will be better soon.

Well I'm still battling with the internet issues but they shall soon be resolved.

Hi,

I had to get on here before I get kicked off the internet again. We don't have the best internet connection. I'm actually borrowing some of the force from one of our neighbors.

Today didn't go as well as I'd like it to. I still have some pretty bad allergy thing going on. Not a big fan of that so I did take a bit nap today and lots of medicine to try to get rid out it.
I tried a new thing today where I tried super hard to act like a New Yorker. A lot of people around here are not so polite or cautious of the fact that there are a million people all trying to get somewhere different. I hardly ever hear and "excuse me" when I just about get knocked over.
Another funny thing that happened, I was in one of those spinny doors and the lady in front of me wouldn't push the door. It was just us two so I was like I really didn't get in this door to chill with you... I had to push the door for both of us... I'm just thinking what would have happened if I wasn't there would she have just stood in there? Wonder if there's enough air?
Except for going to the store we had a pretty quite night... oh, except Reeves set the smoke detector off... twice.

Day 2

Hellos,

Had a good time today too. Although I may have explored a little too hard today. I'm still a little sinusy. I haven't felt the greatest and I can't stop sneezing er coughing. I'm sure the roomies love it.
However, I did have some grand adventures today though : )
First, I got up with the roommates to make sure everyone had a good first day send off. Attended to some internet things and emails and such. Then I finished setting up my desk. Got the printer to work but found out that I needed a cable. So I headed out for a USB cable, among other things.... only one place to go... K-Mart! Because of course I'm moving to Manhattan, they wouldn't have a Target anywhere near here. Then I went to get stamps from the post office and wandered through Madison Square. Then stopped off at a hardware store to get oil for the hinges... every single door or cupboard squeaks in this apartment. While cashing out at the store, run by at least 5 older gentlemen from all different areas of the world, I got whistled at. So I say I had some pretty good adventures today.
I wore a bright green dress (Sara Potter) and looked quite dapper if I do say so myself. When the girls got home we all had dinner and took the subway to the gym at 23 St and 6 Ave, where I had a nice 3 mile walk as I overlooked the bustling city below.
Came home hung out. Got to talk to Jorbie on the phone (he even wagged his tail) (I heard it over the phone)...

Well it has been a long day and i think we're all getting ready to sleep.

The Lil Fish Made it to the Big Apple!

Hello From NYC!

That's right after 7-8 hours in the car and 4 trips(Reeves says 5) from the van to the 6th floor of Herald Towers I made it to my new (kinda) home.
I really like it here. The weather was nice. The area is nice. Roommates are great. I'm just really tired for some reason but I already took a couple hour nap. I also got to see a bit of the city - went to Old Navy and K-Mart... also found a 99cents store! awesome.

The downside, yes, there's a downside. Besides missing my family, friends and pup... I also get to work at my internship for two days a week, every other week... for now. I'll have to see if i can make some minor adjustments.
Tomorrow i plan to start the NYC Job Hunt of Summer 2009!

Well I'll upload pix tomorrow and keep ya updated... also my address changed a bit the Apt # is 6A4 instead of 7A4.

I really want to say thank you to all of you for helping me pack and move and for all your love and support. I'm lucky to know each of you! I really appreciate all that you do. : )

Don't Worry Be Happy!

I know that I’ve started so many blogs before and never stuck with them, but I really do like blogging so I’m going to try to keep it up. It’s a good thing to learn through other peoples experiences and I’m glad to be able to share mine as well. Everything happens for a reason, good or bad, and all the events in our lives can teach us.
Right now I’m going through a lot of changes with my family. These changes are ones that I don’t think that I would have ever been ready for. Some of the most influential, more important people are no longer in my life or barely there. When I thought about things at first, I was scared and didn’t know how I was going to handle everything. Then I was just upset and in denial about how things had turned out. Now I realize that there is nothing that I can do about any of it and all the changes have now become a part of my life and I’m going to have to accept them.
We can’t build our lives around other people’s lives. We were all created to do something special and unique with our lives and we can’t always be dependant on one another.
I know that through it all I will pull through this and figure out what it all means later but in times like these we just have lift our burdens to God and let Him handle all the details.
